Systems Networking Engineer / Network Support Engineer
Based in Horndean, Hampshire
Salary on application, but is negotiable for the right applicant.
Barrie Johnson's workshop is based in Horndean, Hampshire and is looking to recruit a Systems Networking Engineer / Network Support Engineer to join their expanding business support team.
Operating within the network support team, we have a significant track record of delivering business focused IT support within the SME arena. With an aggressive expansion programme in place this is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual, with a good experience of implementing complex networks to the ever demanding small business. The main product range is Microsoft products including Windows, Exchange, SQL and Small Business Server.
Covering Hampshire and working for a number of high value clients on a varied range of projects, as a Systems Networking Engineer / Network Support Engineer you will be providing strategic advice and support to our key accounts. Your duties will include technical hands-on implementation and the management of strategic projects.
As a Systems Networking Engineer / Network Support Engineer your duties will include the investigation and resolution of issues and problems, capacity planning of the network, architecture planning and design. You will also be involved technical presales as part of the business expansion programme.
A creative thinker, you will need the ability to apply high quality IT solutions to a range of business requirements. Reporting to the Managing Director, your contribution will be key to the further development of the business and the introduction of new technologies to core clients.
To succeed as the Systems Networking Engineer / Network Support Engineer you must have the following:
- Wide experience of Windows Server and Desktop support at all levels
- Excellent working knowledge of entry-level switches and routers
- A qualification in any of the following: CCNA/CCNP/CCDP, MCSE or similar may be an advantage.
- Extensive knowledge of Exchange Server coupled with a history of managing migration projects
- Sound knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, WAN/LAN, and other network technologies
Experience of running an ISP's network would be useful, but not essential.

Sales Executive
Based in Hampshire, Surrey location - Field work reporting to Horndean branch once a week.
Salary: Commission only, however a 3-month salary will be provided initially. Company Car, Laptop and Mobile Phone will be provided by the company.
To sell our IT Products & Services to new and existing business clients in the Hampshire and Surrey areas.
The following are considered essential for this position:
Experience in the sale of IT Solutions: Supply, Installation, Maintenance & Support of Servers, Network Infrastructure, PCs & Notebooks in the business network environment.
Must have a full UK driving licence and the ability to communicate in the English Language, in both written and verbal form, are essential.

Junior Technician / Warehouse Assistant
Based in Horndean, Hampshire
Salary: £11,000.00pa with 20 days accrued holiday pa for the right candidate, however we may offer the job to a less experienced person on a lower starting salary until full training has been completed.
This role would suit an enthusiastic induvidual who has already developed a keen interest in computers and already has personal experiences in building and fixing or taking apart computers. The main function of this position is refurbishing used computers ready for resale, so experience in this would be a huge advantage.
You will be joining an established team of skilled and experienced hardware and software engineers who will guide you on a day to day basis, but at times you will be expected to carry out duties (once trained) without help. The role will be varied and will include the picking and packing of computer parts and being responsible for keeping our stock database up-to-date.
Normal hours 9-5.30 with 1 hour for lunch.
